Goal alerts

How do I turn on goal alerts?

Follow a club or tap the star on a match. The first time you do, iOS asks whether Panenka may send notifications. Choose Allow. You'll then get kick-off, goals, red cards and full time for everything you follow.

I said "Don't Allow". How do I change it?

Open iOS Settings → Notifications → Panenka and turn on Allow Notifications. Then open Panenka once so it can register.

I'm not getting alerts.

Check that notifications are allowed for Panenka in iOS Settings, that Focus or Do Not Disturb isn't silencing them, and that you follow the club or saved the match in the app. Low Power Mode and a weak connection can delay delivery. If it still doesn't work, email us with the match and roughly when the goal happened.

A goal alert arrived and then the goal was ruled out.

When a goal is disallowed, for example after a VAR review, Panenka sends "Goal ruled out" and it replaces the earlier goal banner on your lock screen, so you aren't left with a score that didn't stand.

Why didn't I get alerts for a match that already finished?

Panenka only sends alerts while they're current. If your phone was offline or a match was updated late, older moments are shown in the app instead of arriving as stale notifications.

Following clubs and matches

Do I need to follow a club to use the app?

No. Live matches, every competition, tables and match details are all there without following anyone. Following just puts your clubs first and turns on alerts for them.

Do I need an account?

No. There's no sign-up. What you follow is kept on your phone. See the privacy policy for exactly what's used for alerts.

I got a new phone. Where are my clubs?

Because there's no account, follows don't move between phones. Follow your clubs again on the new phone; it takes a few seconds.

Competitions

Which competitions are covered?

More than 50, including the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1, Süper Lig, the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League, the major second divisions, domestic cups and leagues such as MLS, the Brasileirão and the Saudi Pro League. The full list is on the home page.

Why are some details missing for a match?

Not every competition publishes the same depth of data. If lineups or stats aren't available for a match, Panenka leaves that section out rather than guessing.

Can you add my league?

Tell us which one. Requests decide what comes next.

The app

Which devices are supported?

Panenka is an iPhone app.

Are there ads?

There are no ads and no betting promotions anywhere in the app.
